Celebrating Black History Month

BSU moderators and guest speakers

Notre Dame's Black Student Union (BSU) celebrated Black History Month by hosting a panel of accomplished Black women from a variety of professional fields to speak to the student body. With the theme of African Americans in Labor, this thought-provoking Q&A offered insights about their journeys, perspectives and wisdom in their various industries. We are grateful for the professional advice our esteemed panelists shared with our students as they develop leadership skills and explore their interests:

  • Sherinda Bryant, Founder, Afrofuturism Discovery Academy + Co-founder, Redwood Learning Collective
  • Olivia Salguero '15, Santa Clara County Deputy District Attorney
  • Selina Garrison, Tech executive, strategic advisor, board member, consultant
  • Cynthia Cooke, Title IX investigator & retired police officer
  • Esabella Bonner, Founder/Executive Director, Black Surf Santa Cruz

Let’s continue to “Pave the Way” and break down barriers together.
