Prayer & Spiritual Life
Prayer Services
This eucharistic liturgy commissions the students, faculty and staff for the various forms of service and ministry they will complete during the year. The entire community processes to the Cathedral Basilica of St. Joseph in downtown San Jose for the mass.
This on-campus prayer experience celebrates the Catholic feasts of All Saints or All Souls as well as themes of remembrance and gratitude.
Celebrated during the season of Advent, this eucharistic liturgy marks either the Solemnity of the Immaculate Conception of Mary or the Feast of Our Lady of Guadalupe. These Marian feasts celebrate Mary, our school namesake.
All gather in St. Julie Billiart Hall for Morning Prayer or Liturgy of the Word and the distribution of ashes to begin the Lenten journey.
This liturgy focuses on the servant model of leadership given to us by Jesus with stations of the cross or mass. Justice immersion participants are blessed as part of this experience.
Parents and siblings are invited to give thanks for the academic year in prayer and celebration through this Sunday eucharistic liturgy at the Cathedral Basilica of St. Joseph.
The experience of liturgy and communal prayer culminates for seniors and their families at the Baccalaureate Mass celebrated at Cathedral Basilica of St. Joseph.
Spiritual Life
Confirmation is offered every other year to juniors and seniors. After completing an application, candidates will be asked to enroll in the Faithful Life course, participate in preparation sessions, complete a personal interview with a campus minister and attend their grade level retreat. Led by campus ministry staff, students' preparation also consists of discussions about what it means to be Catholic and a celebration of the Sacrament of Reconciliation. The Sacrament of Confirmation is celebrated at a school-wide liturgy with the Bishop. Students will receive an opportunity to indicate their interest in the spring of 2024.
