Hispanic Heritage Month

Students on downtown San Jose fieldtrip

Hispanic Heritage Month provides an opportunity for us to recognize and celebrate individuals and communities both at school and in our local San Jose area.

Latinas Unidas will celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month every Thursday through Oct. 10 by playing music in Pardini Park, and serving cultural drinks from different parts of Latin America.

Students recently had the chance to explore the rich history and vibrant Latinx culture right in downtown San Jose. Our Ethnic Studies freshmen visited the Martin Luther King Library to explore the Low Rider exhibit. Additionally, on the Modern Language culture walks, students learned about Ernesto Galarza through the public art piece Man on Fire. We look forward to offering our students more enriching opportunities to connect with and celebrate the Latinx heritage of our community.
