Kailin Kwan ’03 returned to her alma mater to speak with the League of Young Women Voters about the flag. She emphasized its representation of freedom, particularly the freedom to vote. Kwan shared the protocols for raising and lowering the flag, one of the responsibilities of this on-campus group.
With 13 years working in United States Army and now in her seventh year at NASA Ames Research Center, Kwan shared her experience as a woman in traditionally male-dominated fields. Thank you, Kailin, for inspiring our students and creating positive narratives that challenge stereotypes about career opportunities for young women.
