Prologue: A Night of Music and Dance

Dance and music show

The Notre Dame performing arts program has experienced growth in recent years by expanding its course offerings and improving its productions. One example is the first-ever collaboration between the dance and music departments, showcased in the production titled Prologue. Band and String Ensembles, along with the Jazz Combo, combined forces with Regent Harmonies, Fleurs du Soliel (Advanced Choir), Regent Collective Dance Company, and Dance and Advanced Dance classes for a beautiful night of music, dance and spoken word.

The show brought to life the stories studied in the freshman English curriculum, ranging from Romeo and Juliet to You Bring the Distant Near. Music and dance celebrated relationships, tradition and the beauty of growing up with our Performing Arts ensembles and soloists. The aim was to add depth to the familiar and engage the audience in these texts beyond the classroom. The ND tech crew contributed to the production with sound and lighting support.

This dynamic show served as a culminating experience for the music and dance students, marking a great end to the year.
