Maddie Walstrum '18 served as a volunteer firefighter in the summer after her freshman year at the University of Maryland. Now a nationally-certified EMT, she is living in the firehouse just off campus and supporting the College Park community. Rather than taking spring break, she and 13 of her fellow volunteers are staying to respond to calls.

Sejal Hathi ‘09, MD, MBA is a resident physician at Massachusetts General Hospital and an award-winning social entrepreneur dedicated to building better health systems for vulnerable populations globally.
