Networking at Heritage Bank

Networking at Heritage Bank

The seniors taking Economics this semester took a walking field trip to Heritage Bank, our downtown neighbor, recently. Through a round table discussion and networking opportunity they were able to learn about the challenges and opportunities facing women in the banking industry. The panel was composed of executive vice presidents Teresa Powell, Margo Butsch and Debbie Reuter and senior vice presidents Janice Mizota and Sabine Zimmerhansl. These senior executives shared information about their areas of expertise, including credit, risk, marketing and human resources and the career paths that brought them to their current positions. They also shared their first-hand experiences as women in a male-dominated field.

This opportunity for students was coordinated as part of the Career & Life Success Program at Notre Dame, which creates learning experiences that take students beyond the walls of the traditional classroom. The program prepares young women for life beyond college by empowering them to identify and nurture their individual gifts and talents as they explore opportunities for future career and life success. We thank Heritage Bank for partnering with us in building tomorrow's women leaders.
