Head of School Search

After more than 10 years in her role and more than 30 years working at Notre Dame San Jose, current Head of School Mary Beth Riley, has announced she will retire at the end of the 2022-2023 academic year.  

We are aiming to confirm our new head of school in February/March 2023 however we are actively soliciting applications from qualified candidates until the position is filled. Interviews will take place beginning in January 2023.

We anticipate selection interviews for the new head of school will begin the first week in January 2023.

The Head of School Search Committee was chartered by the Notre Dame Board of Directors in May 2022 in accordance with the board’s governing bylaws. You can find the names of all search committee members listed in the sidebar here.  The Search Committee will interview and recommend head of school candidates for the board’s consideration.  The final selection for the head of school will be made by the board of directors in consultation with the Sisters of Notre Dame de Namur.  

July 1, 2023 is the anticipated start date for the new head of school.
